There’s precious little decent software on the market which helps with greyhound betting, so when I got my hands on a copy of Bags Beater, I actually found myself getting quite excited.

The website claims that:

64% of Greyhound Races are Won by the first bend leader! Find the leader and make 326% ROI!

Of course the difficult part is in picking the dog that is likely to be the leader at bend one. If you could predict that then (assuming that the assertion above is accurate) you’re going to be a clear winner.

Being the first bend leader is hugely beneficial because those in the chasing pack will generally bump and push each other out of contention: there is no honour among racing dogs! If your dog is clear of that battle then he’s clear to run the race as fast as he can.

All this is the rationale behind Bags Beater. It is alleged that the software helps you to figure out – using only the information on the race card – which dog is likely to be in front at the first bend. The software simply helps you visualise how the race might look at the first bend. From there you need to make the decision about which dog will win.

It’s a great idea, actually, and it does work. The only gripe I have is that it is not as automated as I – and I suspect many others – would like it to be. This is not a piece of software that you can set and forget. It certainly helps if you enjoy betting on greyhound racing and know a little bit about it.The flip side of this particular coin is that you still have some control over what you are betting on, and you can still enjoy your betting without being told precisely what to do. If you can bag a tidy little profit while you’re on it, then why not give it a go?
