Overview
Having stumbled upon Lay 51 Operation system on the Internet I decided to have a look what ‘hidden Betfair’s gem’ the system’s author is talking about.
Well, I actually didn’t have to search for this system too long as it’s featured on a number of so called betting review websites. But in all fairness I don’t see too many reviews on them – rather a cluster of sales pitches from all the websites where the respective systems are sold.
I didn’t have too many expectations before giving it a go as the very sales page seemed to be very shallow and not telling anything apart from empty boasting.
But descriptions like ‘Betfair Underground Secret’ and ‘punters have been … hiding these profit pulling methods from you’ and similar got even me intrigued and I decided to see what this Lay 51 Operation system was all about.
I had only one thing clear – it’s going to be about laying horses. And what if there’s indeed some ‘hidden gem’ on Betfair having been ignored by everyone but this unknown system’s author?
The System
The very system has been laid out on less than ten pages – the biggest part of the 22 page pdf file is comprised of Betfair basics.
To my surprise the long wanted ‘Betfair’s secret gem’ was nothing more than the option of seeing particular horse’s statistics when hovering the cursor over its name. At least I GUESS this is the ‘gem’ meant by the incognito author as there’s nothing really other in Lay 51 Operation system than checking the stats and placing lay bets on qualifying horses.
In short the unknown system’s author suggests the following plan.
Find races with at least 6 runners. Then lay a horse between odds 2.2 and 6 which hasn’t run within the last 20 days and has come first in the last 2 races.
That’s it. How you place the bets, how you build your betting bank – it’s all left at your own risk and the only thing that’s been said at the end is – stake 5% of your bank at a time and don’t risk with money you can’t afford to lose.
Risk Level
As the author doesn’t give any system’s past results and doesn’t explain why the odds filter between 2.2 and 6 is applied – I didn’t risk with using real money.
Especially taking into account that it takes just a few winners at the odds of 6 to seriously damage your betting bank.
Betting Bank
5% as a stake of the betting bank is recommended in Lay 51 Operation system. However, the fact that I have to lay horses makes it all a bit more complicated.
The unknown author doesn’t mention if 5% of the bank should be used as the liability or as stakes. If stakes – you’re in a serious trouble when a highly priced horse wins and you lose 30% of your betting bank on a single bet.
If liability – the long-term wins from highly priced losing horses can very possibly be wiped out by shorter priced horses running in first.
So in reality a very serious historical analysis is needed to support the claims that the system’s author makes steady profit from this strategy.
Results
The paper-trading results after two weeks showed exactly what I expected.
Even using the safest approach – 5% liability per bet I managed to go down 230 pounds. So I don’t even want to tell you what would have happened had you tried to place consistent 5% from your betting bank on the qualifying horses.
Conclusions
As a conclusion I have to give you a few healthy advices. First - DON’T TRUST a bleak sales page whose author has decided better to keep his name anonymous.
Second – if nothing certain has been mentioned on the website but some ‘Betfair gem’, DON’T BUY into such an obvious scam.
I could realistically create dozens of such betting systems just taking a simple made up scenario as the main content and adding Betfair basics to make the file at least to be worth calling a ‘system’.
As you could have guessed I asked Clickbank for a refund. My 77 bucks coming back into credit card definitely make me happier than hundreds I could have lost if used Betfair’s Best Kept Secret – as it says on the Lay 51 Operation system’s website.
