Max Redd VIP Tipster Service

There are a lot of stories flying around the blogs and forums that I read about a certain Max Redd and his rather unethical racing tips.
Max, it is alleged, engages in an ancient scam method which involves pleasing some people, some of the time: he gives out different tips to different people. If he’s firing out 5 tips per race then, unless he’s choosing donkeys, he’s going to get a 20% hit rate. It is this 20% hit rate that just about keeps him in ‘business’. High numbers of people have reported signing up to Redd’s free trial — one week’s worth — and receiving completely different selections for the same race. He apparently struggles with the names of the major players in our game, too backing a Mr. LDettori for a convincing win (it was meant to be Mr. F Dettori).
People in betting forums — some who have previously signed up to this gentleman’s VIP service — have also put him to the test by comparing their results. Naturally the backed horses are completely different.

When confronted with this apparent scam Redd has replied cheerily to enquires with the information that he is testing out users who appear to be signing up for multiple accounts. Why this would matter isn’t clear; how it explains current users receiving different tips is unclear, also. Perhaps I am missing the point.

I have never used Redd’s VIP service so I cannot provide a personal opinion on this matter. It does seem to be collaborated across the Internet, though. The problem here is that it really steps on the toes of those fantastic guys who really do offer genuinely helpful tips. These genuine tipsters get tarred with the same stinky brush as Redd and people are put off for life. What a shame, is all I can say!

Actually Frankie Dettori’s full name is Lanfranco Dettori, so any reference to “L. Dettori is correct”

Got something to say?
