Racing To Win – Definitely A Winner

This is a bit of a deviation from the normal slew of systems that I see reviewed here. If it’s not to the readership’s taste then I apologise; on the other hand it might be useful to see a ‘System’ as it was before the mass proliferation of the Internet. That’s right, this is an actual book written on actual paper that was actually published by a real human. And it’s ancient, published BI (Before Internet) in 1987. Technically not before the Internet proper, but before the vast majority of us will ever have used it, anyway.

Anyway, this is a book of systems written by the anonymous ‘Statistician’, a man (or woman) who clearly knows their stuff. The book also contains reviews of grounds around the UK, and even systems for guessing winners in the season’s ‘key races’. It even provides the first rational look at staking systems that I have had the fortune to read.

The book may be old but most of the content is as relevant today as it was back in 1987. One advantage of the age of the book is that you can probably pick it up on ebay or a charity shop for a few pence.

This book makes a refreshing change to the poorly written tosh that we see so much of in these 10 page ebooks. This is a 79 page book crammed full of information. It’s information that you need to study and understand, and it is certainly not a formulaic approach: an interest in statistics would be of use.

What this book does provide is a multitude of solid racing systems and, even better, the knowledge to create and find your own. What this book does not provide is a formula to ‘bet here, collect winnings here’ approach, and if you are looking for that then I would look carefully over the reviews contained in these pages for a decent example of that.
